MUNDUS JOURNALISM COLLECTION 2017
Analytical Journalism
THIS IS US
The Erasmus Mundus Journalism program is a two-year Joint Master's that focuses on journalism, media and globalisation. The program brings together 82 students from all over the globe who study in Aarhus, Denmark for the first year, producing analytical journalistic pieces for a class assignment. This website is a collection of the finest journalistic pieces, analysing issues that plague different regions of the world, with the students putting their own, fresh take on it.
The topics analysed here are diverse, focusing on different regions of the world. From Child Brides in China to Russia’s expansionist measures in the light of its economy, the pieces are truly diverse. The students have transcended basic understanding of the issues, and instead used research and analytical tools to add knowledge to an interesting subject.
The idea is to produce, long-narrative features using story-telling methods to keep the readers engaged while advancing international perspectives on themes the reader maybe unaware of. By doing this, the journalists also learn to shed regional bias when reporting on critical issues.
